In honor of National Tequila Day, here's a BM1000 story that has it all; a dive bar in Austin, Wu-Tang Clan members RZA and GZA, and Bill Murray behind the bar: Bill Murray Walks Into a Bar In 2010, Bill Murray was hanging out with his buddies GZA and RZA from the Wu-Tang Clan, with whom he’d started a friendship in 2003’s “Coffee and Cigarettes”. The group found themselves on the east side of Austin at a dive bar that had recently opened called Shangri-La. Bill had a few drinks with an off-duty bartender named Trevor Rathbone. Word got out that Bill was in the building and he was mobbed by enthusiastic fans. Bill made an exit to visit another music venue but promised to return. A few hours later, Bill made good on his promise. Tyler Van Alen, who was serving that night sent a text, “Bill is back looking for Trevor. See if we can get Bill behind the bar?” Trevor was tending bar upstairs and ran downstairs to see if Bill was really there. Trevor found Bill already serving drinks behind the bar, “It was classic Bill Murray. No matter what drink anyone ordered,” said Trevor, “Bill would smile, nod his head, and pour a warm shot of tequila.”
